Gastronomic Immersion

Nothing separates Sicily from other destinations more than its FOOD!  Get ready to explore the flavorful, colorful, aromatic and incredible tastes that come from the local land and sea and are created with love and care. From open-air street markets and local cafes, to a cooking class led by a local woman, a farm tour from a proud family, a Sicilian olive oil tasting and so much more—get ready to taste your way through Sicily and all of its cultural gastronomic influences.

Relax Deeply

On this Exploration, I’ve made it a point to offer several days at a more leisurely pace. This gives each of us a chance to relax and absorb our experiences, and reflect on this grand destination. We’re selected beautiful hotel properties with incredible locations and 4-star luxury that offer additional services to enhance relaxation such as swimming pools, gardens and spas where we can pre-reserve treatments for self-care. Spring temperatures are perfect for exploring and sleeping peacefully, typically ranging from 55- 70°F.

Generations of families have called Sicily home. Our Exploration includes many days where we will interact with local people to learn about their culture, beliefs and way of life. This type of cultural exchange can’t be manufactured, but rather flows as the opportunities present themselves to open up and create new friends and memories together.

As an island country, the seacoast is never far away, nor the gentle breezes.  The sounds of the open sea are so soothing to the soul.  We’ve even scheduled time to relax and enjoy a comfortable boat to see the magnificent shoreline and take in a completely different perspective of Sicily’s scenic coast.

Explore History’s Impact

Sicily’s history is a remarkable combination of resilience from conquering nations. Our travels will take us in to some of the most historic sites to further understand how each invading group impacted what we see today as Sicily and its people.  There are many, many unique sites and our program will offer you insights on those that truly shaped this region of Italy.

Hike to a Volcano

Time to lace up the sneakers and get out to walk toward the massive Mount Etna – the largest active volcano in Europe!  We’ll follow a gentle trail climbing to 5,900 feet above sea level to gaze at this example of the earth’s constantly changing surface and this historic mountain of lava and rock.

My 2026 Splendors of Sicily Exploration will be a travel journey like no other!
