My 2025 Iceland Exploration: The Land of Fire and Ice was a true call to nature lovers who sought the extremes of heat and cold on our planet. We explored Iceland, an island nation where lava flows and icebergs float, where nighttime delivered the promise of Northern Light sightings, natural thermal waters for soaking, and daytime featuring endless horizons of sea and shore, including whale sightings. Iceland is a country where locals revere the land for its bounty, and work fiercely to protect it for future generations through their words, actions and programs. It is truly a magical place! While on our Exploration – we were hit with an early-season snowstorm dropping over 15″ of fresh snow on a country unprepared for its early arrival. Our group found many alternative plans to continue our understanding and interactions in Iceland. A wonderful adventure for all!

“This is the third trip I have taken with Marty Harger’s travel group. We arrived in Reykjavik, a beautiful, historic city on the water with plenty of amazing hotels, restaurants, shops and activities. We enjoyed all our meals and the bread is beyond words. We were even able to see Northern Lights from the hotel window! Marty did an outstanding job of planning activities, and our guides/transportation were great!
We drove north to see the countryside, waterfalls, geysers, farms and the volcanic & tectonic features. The highlights for me were the warm, geothermal lagoons with spas that we were able to enjoy, as well as a greenhouse-tomato producing farm, complete with a restaurant specializing in tomato recipes (including drinks and desserts!) I would highly recommend any trips organized by Marty Harger and Essential Earth Explorations. You are guaranteed a great experience and many new friends!”
“After recently traveling on Marty Harger’s Iceland Exploration, I can recommend her travel programs because not only was the entire trip well planned and executed without any issues, when mother nature threw a curve ball and gave us an unexpected blizzard, Marty worked steadfastly to provide an alternate to our planned tour, which was cancelled due to the snow. As a first time traveler with Marty, I was amazed at how unaffected this “bump” was to the group. We were well informed and given our alternate plans within hours!
